137:3. כִּי שָׁם שְׁאֵלוּנוּ שׁוֹבֵינוּ דִּבְרֵי־שִׁיר וְתוֹלָלֵינוּ שִׂמְחָה שִׁירוּ לָנוּ מִשִּׁיר צִיּוֹן ׃

137:3. ג   כי שם שאלונו שובינו דברי-שיר--    ותוללינו שמחה שירו לנו    משיר ציון

137:3. כִּי שָׁם שְׁאֵלוּנוּ שֹׁובֵינוּ דִּבְרֵישִׁ־יר וְתֹולָלֵינוּ שִׂמְחָה שִׁירוּ לָנוּ מִשִּׁיר צִיֹּון׃

137:3. ‏כִּ֤י שָׁ֨ם שְֽׁאֵל֪וּנוּ שׁוֹבֵ֡ינוּ דִּבְרֵי־שִׁ֭יר וְתוֹלָלֵ֣ינוּ שִׂמְחָ֑ה שִׁ֥ירוּ לָ֝֗נוּ מִשִּׁ֥יר צִיּֽוֹן׃

137:3. for there our captors ask us to compose songs; those who mock us demand that we be happy, saying: "Sing for us a song about Zion!"

137:3. For our captors demanded a song from us. Our tormentors insisted on a joyful hymn: "Sing us one of those songs of Jerusalem!"

137:3. For there they that led us captive required of us songs, And they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
